Oregon Sport Fishing Advisory Group to Meet May 4

   04.26.12

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Inland Sport Fishing Advisory Committee will meet on Friday, May 4 at the ODFW Headquarters at 3406 Cherry Ave. NE in Salem.

The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the agenda will include a discussion of ODFW’s efforts to promote fishing in Oregon and an update on development of the 2013 angling regulations. Immediately following the committee meeting, a working group focused on the recent Quality Waters legislation will convene. The public is invited to participate in a discussion of how to implement this new program.

The Inland Sport Fishing Advisory Committee was created by ODFW to help provide input and ideas on implementation of the department’s 25-year Angling Enhancement Plan. The plan has two primary goals of providing diverse, stable, and productive angling opportunities, and recruiting and retaining anglers.

The 26 members of the Advisory Committee represent a variety of fishing interests from throughout the state.
