Looking for a high-tech lock to make sure your valuable outdoor gear and equipment stay safe? Meet the goLock VENTURE, a patent pending electronic cable that not only secures equipment like bikes, hunting gear, and kayaks, but will also alert you by a smartphone app if anyone tries to tamper with the lock. In addition, a built-in alarm system will activate, alerting everyone nearby.
“It started two years ago on a fishing trip to the coast,” said goLock founder Steve Jones. “Our trailer was loaded with three kayaks and a YETI cooler. Along the way, we stopped at a restaurant for lunch, and realized how vulnerable our gear was to theft despite all the beefy locks and chains we had around our gear. Unable to see our equipment from the restaurant, we spent the entire meal hopping between table and parking lot… no picnic!”
With equipment that can cost well in the thousands, theft is a constant worry for many who enjoy the outdoors. Jones is hoping his creation could give many some peace of mind. The team behind goLock VENTURE is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter with the goal of raising $80,000. Those funds will be used to transition the goLock from prototype to production. If the crowdfunding campaign is successful, goLuck expects to begin selling the VENTURE in September.
