River Otter Shows Black Lab Who’s Boss

Outside of an alligator, bobcat or perhaps a hungry eagle, there aren’t many animals that a river otter naturally fears—especially not an inquisitive Labrador retriever that seems to see the otter as a live play toy.

The dog’s wagging tail and high-pitched bark seem to indicate it’s uncertain about an animal that can disappear below the surface, but still, the pup seems more intent on frolicking than fighting.

Perhaps the otter has better things to do, or it may not consider a goofy black Lab to be a worthy playmate. Whatever the case, it launches a surprise attack that makes its message clear.
