Video: Hiker Encounters Humanlike Robot on the Trail

So much for a quiet walk in the woods.

According to a reddit poster, the video was filmed by a woman who was out for a walk with her dog. That was interrupted by a bipedal Boston Dynamics robot stumbling through nature with its support staff. The staff was there to monitor the robot and drive a UTV that carries the robot’s power systems.

The Boston Dynamics team has used the same forest area for testing in the past, so this shouldn’t come as a total surprise. This is, however, the first time someone unaffiliated with the robotics company captured one of the tests on film. You can watch a previous version of “Atlas” traversing the outside world here:
