The Monday morning commute in Estero, Florida was a little more action packed than normal after a high-speed chase lead to a fatal shooting. Thankfully, there was a good guy with a gun close by who was able to help the Police Officer in this story.
12-year veteran Deputy First Class Dean Bardes was involved in car chase Monday morning, reaching speeds higher than 120-mph. He chased the suspect for multiple exits, before he exited his vehicle and tackled Deputy Bardes.
As the two men were on the ground fighting, a passerby – who had a Concealed Carry License – got out of his vehicle and instructed the suspect to stop and get off the deputy. After noncompliance, the passerby shot the suspect and stopped him from beating Deputy Dean Bardes.
