TSA Seizes Grenade-Shaped Salt and Pepper Shakers at Detroit Airport

TSA agents at Detroit Metropolitan Airport seized salt and pepper shakers from a passenger’s carry-on bag because they were shaped like M-118 grenades.

The Transportation Security Administration posted the following photo of the shakers on their official Instagram page:

If your food is a bit bland, you could add some flavor with these stylish salt & pepper shakers fashioned after the M-118 grenade. Just don’t bring them on the plane…these were discovered in a Detroit (DTW) carry-on bag.

TSA guidelines specifically bans bringing any items that resemble explosives in both carry-on and checked baggage. They also encourage you, if you have any item(s) in question, to simply snap a picture of it and send it to AskTSA on Facebook Messenger or Twitter.
