Video: Can You Guess What this Canadian Ice Angler is About to Do?

The Internet is filled with great videos produced by some outstanding anglers, but in my opinion, the most entertaining is Aaron Wiebe of Uncut Angling. His cameraman is Jay Siemens, and together they never fail to educate, inspire and surprise anglers around the world.

In this early 2017 video from Clearwater Lake in northern Manitoba, Aaron wants to sight-fish for lake trout. Acting on a tip from the owner of Evergreen Resort, Aaron decides to attempt it on a rocky spine that tops out at 27 feet. Deeper water surrounds the spine. The thought is lakers might cross the rocks as they travel from one deep basin to the other.

Of course, Aaron isn’t about to simply sight-fish from a hole that only he can utilize. He wants to ensure that everyone on the planet can sight-fish right beside him, so he cuts a hole in the ice that can only be described as mammoth. In fact, the first few minutes of this crazy-cool video are of Aaron attempting to cut a hole the size of a twin bed.

Eventually, Aaron is successful and . . . well . . . you’ll just have to watch the amazing video to see what happens next. (Be sure to turn up the volume on the Facebook video for best viewing.)
