Update: Girl Dragged Off Dock By Sea Lion Now Being Treated For ‘Seal Finger’

The dramatic video that showed a young girl being viciously dragged off a dock by a wild sea lion in British Columbia now has another twist as the young girl is being treated for “seal finger.”

Seal finger is reportedly caused by several types of Mycoplasma bacteria that seals carry in their mouths. If left untreated, the infection could be fatal, and even lead to a loss of limbs.

“The family saw the media reports and got in touch with us,” Deana Lancaster, the aquarium spokeswoman, told ABC News. “She did get a superficial wound, and she’s going to get the right treatment.”
