Video: Rare All-White Giraffes Finally Caught on Camera in Kenya

Conservation rangers in Kenya caught an extremely rare glimpse of a pair of white giraffes in the wild.

It’s been reported that an all-white mother and calf started surfacing in 2016, but the elusive animals have a keen way of staying hidden and have only been seen a handful of times since then.

The giraffes apparently have a genetic condition that we’ve seen in other animals before, which inhibits pigmentation in their skin cells.

This is not to be confused with albinism, however, which also has an affect on other ares of the body, like the eyes.

Experts believe there’s only an estimated 8,500 of these rare mutated giraffes in the wild.
