Video: New Texas Law Allows for Open Carry of Swords and Machetes

It’s no secret that Texans like their guns, but the state has now passed a new law that eases restrictions on knives with blades longer than 5.5 inches.

This legislation was put into affect on September 1,  ABC 13 reports, and comes after a man killed a student at the University of Texas with a large hunting knife.

The new law, though, doesn’t permit the carrying of these weapons in places such as bars, schools, colleges, sporting events, polling places, race parks, correctional facilities, hospitals, amusement parks and places of worship.

Certainly an unusual law, but hey, you have to love Texas!
