House Approves ‘Reciprocity Bill’ to Expand Concealed Carry Owner’s Rights

On December 6, the House approved legislation that loosens gun restrictions for carrying concealed firearms across state lines.

According to NPR, the measure passed, 231-198, and is now headed for a stingy battle in the Senate.

They also reported that 14 Republicans voted no, and 6 Democrats voted yes on the “concealed carry reciprocity bill,” which for legal gun owners with the proper permit, makes traveling across state lines WAY less of a headache.

Considering the timing, several Democrats are not happy about the bill, and have said times like these call for stricter, not looser gun legislation.

Do you agree with that last statement?

We will be sure to keep our eyes on this important piece of legislation as it makes its way through the Senate. We wouldn’t recommend holding your breathe in hopes of a quick ruling, however.
