After the Feb. 14, 2018, school shooting in Florida, Democrats and Republicans have agreed to come together and discuss “what sort of agreement we can reach on legislation,” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reportedly said during a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting.
According to CBS News, Sen. Grassley is planning to sit down with Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) and John Cornyn (R-Texas) to talk about possible gun control legislation.
“Today, grief and sorrow on our part is really not adequate because, for the past 25 years, I have seen this committee do exactly that and do nothing,” Feinstein said. “This isn’t going to stop, members. This is going to continue. And we become culpable when we do nothing to stop it.”
On top of adding more gun control, legislators also claim they will take a look at the glaring mental health issue in America.
