The Outdoor Campus-West Releases Summer Program Schedule for South Dakotans

   05.07.12

The Department of Game, Fish and Parks’ Outdoor Campus-West in Rapid City has released its program schedule for the coming summer.

“We’ve expanded some of our programming and have a lot to offer for everyone in the family,” said Chad Tussing, director of The Outdoor Campus-West.

Program topics include wetland wildlife, kayaking, archery and more. Several special events are also planned.

“One of the big special events coming up this summer is Outdoor University on Aug. 25. We’ll have a lot of the traditional field-day activities, such as archery and fishing, plus stations where GF&P staff showcase their tools of the trade and discuss how the agency uses the tools to manage fish and wildlife resources,” Tussing said.

Programs are geared for all ages and span four major content areas: hunting, fishing, outdoor skills and outdoor education. Most programs require pre-registration, but drop-in events are also offered.

The Outdoor Campus-West is located at 4130 Adventure Trail Road. There is no admission to The Outdoor Campus-West, and the facility is open to the public six days a week.
