Video: Nest Cam Shows Bald Eagles React To Earthquake That Shook Southern California

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake shook southern California this week, the strongest quake to rumble the area in many years.
The shaking was reportedly felt as far away as Bakersfield, Palmdale and in the city of Orange, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) states.
While the powerful shocks were shaking the earth, some cool footage was captured by a Channel Islands National Park web cam, showing a male bald eagle and chicks reacting to the approaching tremor on Santa Cruz Island.

In the video, you can see the moment everything starts to shake around the nest and the adult eagle immediately panics, leaving the three chicks it was watching alone.
Within a few moments however, the bird eventually returns to the nest to make sure all the chicks are accounted for. The chicks don’t seem very thrilled with their guardians decision to leave them alone.
Thankfully, the chicks seem to make it through the quake unscathed.
