CastAway Rods Joins the Association of Collegiate Anglers and the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series

The Association of Collegiate Anglers has announced that CastAway Graphite Rods will join the 2012 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series as a series sponsor, as well as provide support to the ACA School of the Year program.

CastAway, a leader in high-quality rod manufacturing, strives to bring technology and performance together to make a modern fishing tool that is superior. From innovative blank designs to cutting-edge components, CastAway will be putting quality products in the hands of student anglers from across the country.

CastAway has a longstanding history in rod development, and their new College Series rods are focused on quality, precision, and performance, yet priced to be within reach of collegiate anglers. In addition to great rods at affordable prices, students can also find an assortment of school colors to show their school spirit. The winning team in the 2012 ACA School of the Year race will actually win 50 custom rods in their school colors for their accomplishment as part of the CastAway sponsorship.

According to Danny Blandford, Program Director for the Association of Collegiate Anglers, “We are excited to welcome CastAway into our collegiate family. Their contribution to the School of the Year race shows their commitment to college fishing. With fifty school colored rods, the ultimate winners of the SOY race will not only be able to reward the students who helped earn this prestigious honor, but also make rods available to sell as part of a fundraising opportunity for the club. I know if my alma mater wins this award, I’d buy a rod from them to acknowledge their accomplishment and help support their cause. I would expect many other fans of college fishing to do the same. This is a great idea and something I expect to be very well received.”

Adam Murray of CastAway went on to add, “We are very excited about this opportunity to be a part of college fishing. These young men and women are the very near future of the sport, many working hard to achieve that dream of fishing the Elite Series or FLW Tour. Everyone at CastAway wants to be a part of that dream and this is our way of getting involved early and helping them reach that goal.”
