Terry Nelson 01.23.19
Smith & Wesson is still at it, coming up with new firearms that keep them moving forward. New for 2019 and on display at the 2019 SHOT Show are several new editions to S&W’s lineup that will be sure to have appeal to the concealed carry market.
New offerings at the 2019 SHOT Show include:
Performance Center M&P Shield M 2.0 with ported barrel, offered in 9mm, 40 and 45.
Features of the new S&W M2.0 are:
- Ported barrel and slide to reduce muzzle flip
- Performance Center enhanced trigger to give a crisp trigger pull
- HI-VIZ fiber optic sights or tritium night sights
- M&Ps patented take-down lever system and sear deactivation for disassembly without having to pull the trigger
I have long been a fan of the M&P Shield and carry one on a regular basis. This new edition to the Shield M2.0 in the Performance Center line up gives the concealed carry market more to consider and choose from. MSRP for this new line of Shields is $539 to $623 depending on sight selection.
Another new concealed carry option by S&W is the Performance Center Model 442, .38 Special, five-shot revolver.
Features of the new S&W M422 are:
- Internal hammer design for snag proof draw and quick access
- Two tone finish
- Crimson Trace LG-105 Lasergrips
- Performance Center Tuned Action
- Chambered in .38 Special +P
Revolvers fit the bill perfectly at times and should not be overlooked for those looking for a viable option for everyday carry. MSRP on the new Performance Center Model 422 revolver is $742.
