Video: Pheasant Goes Up Against a Cranky Grouse and Instantly Regrets It
OutdoorHub Reporters 04.19.19
Who’s king of upland game birds, you ask? Well, depending on your geographic location, you may have your own opinions.. but try selling that to this cranky grouse!
According to the Michigan Pheasants Forever post on Facebook, this video of a rooster facing off against a grouse was captured in Wexford County, Michigan at the Thundering Aspens Sportsman Club.
It’s a short clip, but a good reminder that grouse remains the king:
Ruffed Grouse can be found in several states, with the most popular being Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Maine – in no specific order. The bird itself is illusive, to say the least, which is a big reason why grouse hunting is mainly focused around counting flushes rather than harvests. But don’t think that makes things any easier!
You have to earn every step you take in the grouse woods, and every single hunt will absolutely challenge even the most seasoned dogs.
