Mathews Archery is touted as being one of the most dominant archery companies in the industry with some of the most-coveted bows on the market as well. We have a bit of a spoiler alert from the Archery Trade Association (ATA) Show for 2020… that trend is going to continue! At the ATA Show we got our 1st look at their New VXR hunting bow.
The New VXR hunting bow is meant to be a culmination of a lot of their technologies into something that shoots and aims like a target bow, but has the compact handling and size of a hunting bow. They wanted to give people the best of both worlds. There is no MSRP set for the VXR because you can Custom Order your very own VXR piece-by-piece by using Mathews’ Bow Builder on their website. Some of the features you are assured to receive can be read below as presented by Matthews:
- NEW Extended Bridged Riser: Enhanced Stability at Full Draw
- NEW SwitchWeight Modules: Adjust Draw Length & Draw Weight
- 3-D Damping: Eliminate Post-Shot Vibration
- AVS Technology: Enable Smooth Draw
- Mathews Engage Grip: Consistent Hand Placement
- Silent Connect System (SCS) Compatible: Noise Free Sling & Rope Attachment
- Zero T Axle System: Precise Cam Adjustments
- Enhanced Stabilizer Bushing: Increased Accuracy & Vibration Dampening
The VXR is available in both 28″ and 31.5″ axle-to-axle variations, and draw weights of 60, 65, 70, and 75 Lbs. You also have your choice of 8 different colors: Green Ambush, Ridge Reaper Barren, Ridge Reaper Forest, Optifade Elevated II, Realtree Edge, Optifade Subalpine, Stone, and Black. A few more highlights of the VXR can be read in their statement below as well as their Highlight video from YouTube:
“The extended, six-bridge riser on the 2020 VXR is designed to cut weight, while adding strength and stability. It holds like a target bow, while maintaining the maneuverability of a compact hunting rig. This new geometry increases cam efficiencies and enhances the effects of 3D Damping to make it the most stable, stealthy platform we ever built.“
With the ability to quite literally choose every single piece of your bow from components to matching the colors between them, this is the definition of a Custom bow. Also, by blending the lines of a great target bow with a hunting bow you do not have to settle – you can have your cake and eat it, too! The only questions that remains is what do you think? Let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
