[SHOT Show 2020] New from Sig Sauer: The P210 Carry Pistol

Sig Sauer debuted a new offering for 2020 at this year’s range day just prior to the annual SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Sig P210 Carry pistol is a spinoff of the Sig P210 Target model in 9mm. According to a Sig Sauer spokesman on site at Sigs range Day, “Sig has been listening to our customer base and the P210 Carry model is something our customers have been asking for.”

The Sig P210 is essentially a very accurate carry pistol in a 1911 platform. Its accuracy comes from very tight tolerances and the reverse rail system that the pistol employs. Essentially a reverse rail system as found in the Sig P210 Target model or the CZ 75 allows the slide to ride in the receiver, instead of on it, thereby giving the slide more support and therefore accuracy. The reverse rail system is not new, having been designed by Charles Petter, an officer of the French Foreign Legion in World War I.

Shooting the Sig P210 Carry, I found it to be extremely accurate making off-hand shots at 30 to 35 yards on steel silhouettes. Other notable features include an aluminum frame, rounded edges for ease of carry, G10 grips, and front and rear slide serrations making working the slide a breeze. It also sports SigLite tritium night sights.

Specifications for the Sig P210 Carry as follows;

  • Barrel length, 4.1 inches
  • Weight, 32 ounces (approximate)
  • 5-pound trigger
  • Capacity 8 plus 1
  • Finish, blued
  • Aluminum frame

The on-site Sig spokesman advise that the model available on site is essentially a prototype and that they will be a few tweaks before the Sig P210 Carry is available mid-2020. One change anticipated; additional texturing added to the G10 grips. Selling price expected for the Sig P210 is $1300.
