‘Breathing’ Forests Make for Some Treacherous Hunting Conditions

If you’ve been hunting long enough, you may have hunted through treacherous hunting conditions, or found yourself in a less than ideal treestand situation more times than once.

Perhaps it was an old treestand, or worse yet, one of those homemade deals your grandfather hunted out of when he was a youngster and now if you sneeze or lean out too far on one side the whole thing will either crumple or let out a creaking sound that scares every deer in the woods to the next county.

If not the treestand itself, certainly you’ve stuck it out in weather conditions you probably shouldn’t have been hunting in, but did so anyways – the things we do for what we love..

This clip graced my Instagram feed recently, and all those times I thought “just tough it out” came screaming back to me. Hopefully you’re not in a treestand if the ground starts “breathing” like this:
