U.S. Fish and Wildlife is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and/or charges being filed against those responsible for the poisonings. Reward Offered Following Wildlife Poisonings in Northern Wisconsin

Authorities in northern Wisconsin are investigating after several domestic dogs, and other wild animals, have been found dead from poison, wildlife officials said last week.
Wisconsin DNR, along with U.S. Fish and Wildlife, are taking a closer look at the case after multiple dogs have died in Forest, Marinette and Florence counties. Investigators also found dead raptors, coyotes, weasels, raccoons and wolves.
According to NBC26, lab test results came back showing the cause of death in these animals was from ingesting a dangerous toxic substance. U.S. Fish and Wildlife pointed out this is an ongoing investigation that began in 2019. The original deaths took place on public lands.
Wildlife officials involved with the case say the dogs ingested poison that was found on the ground, and died shortly after. Since the start of the investigation back in 2019, officials say two hunting beagles were poisoned in Forest County and additional wildlife fatalities were reported in Marinette County.
At this time, it is unknown if other counties are affected. Wildlife officers recommend people keep pets on leashes while walking to restrict movements off roadways to avoid possible contact with any poison.
