Watch: Animal Control Officers Catch Deer in a Net, Remove Plastic Pumpkin Stuck on its Head

Two New Jersey animal control officers are being called heroes online, after coming to the aid of a whitetail deer who had been spotted running around with a plastic pumpkin stuck on its head.

Montclair Township Animal Control explained in a Facebook post Tuesday morning, how they began receiving multiple calls about a deer with its head stuck inside one of those decorative plastic pumpkins you might set on your front porch. Two officers were then dispatched to the area where people last saw the deer, and managed to track it down so they could devise a plan to free its head from the jack-o-lantern.

A video shared by the township’s animal shelter shows the moment after the two workers were able to corral the deer in a large net and remove the festive hat from her head.

The pumpkin was safely removed, but the same could not be said for the workers net.
