Taxidermists are Seeing a Rise in Hunters Wanting Their Deer Mounted in 2020

This time of year is always a busy one for those in the taxidermy business, but this year in particular, taxidermists are seeing a large increase in hunters walk through their doors.
Chalk it up to more hunters being in the woods, or the weather, but one thing is for certain; taxidermist’s shops are filling up fast.
According to 9&10 News, one taxidermist in northern Michigan says they cannot accept any more deer heads for the 2020 season due to the uptick in customers wanting to get their prizes mounted.
And another taxidermist in the New York area is seeing a similar rise in hunters of all ages wanting to have taxidermy work done this year. Finger Lakes Times, reports Randy Stewart, owner of Clingerman Taxidermy in North Rose, New York, said he’s “seeing younger hunters who are spending more money, and there have been more women bringing deer to me. This is great for the future of hunting.”
“I have seen three generations at Clingerman,” he continued. “I have done work for grandpas, fathers and sons and daughters.”
Stewart has been in the taxidermy business for 34 years after purchasing Clingerman Taxidermy in 1993, so he has definitely has his finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the woods.
