Aimpoint introduces the new Acro P-2 ultra-compact Red Dot

The pistol red dot arena is starting to really heat up as of late with loads of new offerings coming to the market in 2021 alone. One of the newest contenders is the Aimpoint Acro P-2 – the next generation of the ACRO series of red dot sights. The Acro P-2 incorporates their closed emitter system as well as a mind-blowing 5-years of constant on-time using a CR2032 battery.

Aimpoint already has a great lineup of red dots that work on both pistols and rifles but the Acro P-2 has several new features that make it worthy of adding to your collection. The Acro P-2 starts off with an improved LED emitter paired with a larger capacity CR2032 battery. Aimpoint says that this new combo will net you 50,000 hours or 5-years of constant battery life so you don’t have to worry about whether or not your optic is on.

One of the hallmarks of the ACRO lineup is the fully enclosed design. I’ve personally had experience with this on the wrong end with some non-enclosed emitters and when moisture enters the emitter area it can seriously screw up or block out the dot completely making your red dot useless. The enclosed emitter design shields both the emitter and interior of the lens from moisture and dust making it nearly weatherproof.

The new Acro P-2 with its new LED emitter features a 3.5 MOA dot and has a new intensity adjustment keypad that is more tactical and distinct feeling. The controls for the Acro P-2 have been moved to near the battery compartment to help protect the power adjustment buttons against unintentional changes.  All in all, these improvements are leaps and bounds ahead of what the Acro P-1 was and I am most impressed by the nearly tripled battery life of the unit. While the Acro P-2 is intended for use on pistols, Aimpoint says that the new optic will find itself right at home on shotguns, carbines, and rifles as well. The Acro P-2 is available to order now and retails for 599.00
