There are still many people today who consider the .357 Magnum snub-nosed revolver to be the best possible option for them in a concealed carry situation. With an extremely powerful round, low profile, and simple operating mechanism, the snub-nosed revolver is a force to be reckoned with in the right hands. Smith & Wesson is continuing to keep the style alive by introducing their newest revolver adaptation – the Model 19 Carry Comp. Taking everything you like about the classic Model 19 and adding a few bells and whistles, The Model 19 Carry Comp is ready to be your next concealed carry six-shooter.

The Model 19 Carry Comp has all the classic benefits that a normal revolver does: Its easy and safe to carry, packs a powerful punch, has the added layer of safety that a double-action trigger has but with the option to have a light and crisp single-action pull when increased accuracy is needed. The Model 19 Carry Comp will come in either a 2.5″ or 3″ ported barrel configuration featuring Smith & Wessons PowerPort single top-mounted barrel port. In addition, Smith and Wesson added adjustable blacked-out rear sights and paired them with a tritium front sight for better target acquisition. Aiding in the accuracy department, Smith & Wesson’s Performance Center wing has taken the trigger of the Model 19 Carry Comp and fined tuned it to have a short and crisp single-action pull and a smooth double-action pull with no overtravel.
Despite its many technical enhancements that make it better suited for carrying and shooting with such a powerful handgun cartridge, the Model 19 still retains its charm as a revolver with its wood and synthetic grips and its carbon steel outer finish. If you’re interested in picking up a Model 19 Carry Comp you can expect to get one for right around $1,152 for the 3″ barrel version or $1,132 for the 2.5″ version.
