New CL Curio 7×21 Micro Binoculars Available from Swarovski Optik

A new pair of compact and lightweight binoculars has just hit the market from one of the world’s most respected and well-known optics manufacturers. The new CL Curio 7×21 Micro Binoculars from Swarovski features a sleek and modern body design and are paired with Swarovski’s exceptional glass quality to bring you a pair of binoculars that is just as convenient as they are classy. These binoculars seem to be geared towards a “do-it-all” niche within the binocular community as they are small enough to fit inside of a jacket pocket and wouldn’t necessitate the use of an external pouch if you really wanted to just carry them around in a hunting vest or fishing jacket if you wanted to keep them handy.

Working with industrial designer Marc Newson, the CL Curio combines the great glass quality that you’ve come to expect from all Swarovski Optics and pairs it with what Swarovski calls “extraordinary design prowess.” Newson had this to say about his feelings on the new CL Curio binoculars and their design.

“There is an incredibly romantic aspect to this project because binoculars are timeless objects, and their function is akin to magic: they allow you to see things usually invisible to the naked eye. There are a few remaining objects of this kind that still exist – a truly analog device. Unlike many digital things, they are completely future proof.”

The CL Curio binoculars are not only small and compact but are extremely aesthetically pleasing probably due to the design being handled by Marc Newson. From the dimensions alone you can tell that the main focus with the CL Curio line is its portability. The new CL Curio binoculars are part of a new marketing campaign put on by Swarovski named “Expect the Unexpected.”

The CL Curio will come in two different color variations along with its own carrying case. The black CL Curio model features an all-blacked-out design which includes the bridge and binocular tubes while the Burnt Orange model will feature a silver bridge to highlight the companies focus on enhancing the aesthetics of this particular feature. Both the black and burnt orange options of the CL Curio binoculars will be sold for $932 and are available with free shipping from Swarovski. I particularly like the burnt orange variant because I feel like it is one of those colors that doesn’t quite get used enough in the optics world. What are your thoughts on these new binoculars?
