NRAblog is Bianchi Cup Bound
NRAblog 05.21.12
Today I’m making my way to Missouri for the 2012 MidwayUSA & NRA Bianchi Cup. Also known as the NRA National Action Pistol Championship, the Bianchi Cup draws competitors from all over the world to compete and over 250 of the best action pistol shooters are descending upon Columbia, Missouri right now.
Today and tomorrow, competitors will be on the practice range for one last chance to check their gear and perfect their skills. Registration also opens tomorrow, where I’ll have a chance to talk to the competitors and bring you more information on their pistols and the different Bianchi Cup divisions.
Although the course of fire for the Bianchi Cup has remained the same since the match’s inception in 1979, each year brings new and exciting changes. In addition to an amazing prize table totaling more than $500,000 in cash, guns, and gear, there are thousands of dollars in cash on the line for the top performing new shooters.
I’ll also be brining you a look at our sponsors. For 2012, we’ve got many returning sponsors and quite a few new sponsors that have added to the roster. The same goes for the celebrities that will be competing in the Colt Celebrity Pro-Am this Saturday. Fan favorite Kenda Lenseigne will be returning with Marshall Teague and the pair will join newcomers Tim Abell and Mark Christopher Lawrence.
There’s so much in store this week, so keep checking back for all the latest from the Bianchi Cup. Stay tuned, because tomorrow I’ll have my predictions on who will win and words from the shooters in the running for “The Cup.”
