Colorado’s St. Vrain State Park Offers Memorial Day Weekend Nature Events

Join the St. Vrain State Park naturalist for three days of fun this Memorial Day Weekend. The events start by enjoying a relaxing campfire, telling stories, looking for stars, toasting marshmallows and learning about creatures of the Colorado night on Friday, May 25, at 9 p.m.

On Saturday, May 26 at 2 p.m., visitors can learn about the many different species of birds found throughout the park. Find out what makes a bird unique, go on a nature walk to find birds in the park and make a bird craft. Then, on Sunday, May 27, get to know the park on a St. Vrain scavenger hunt at 11 a.m. and an afternoon of nature related games starting at 2 p.m.

The campfire event will meet at the park Amphitheatre, and all other events will meet at the Camper Services Building near Mallard Pond. Programs are free with admission to the park, $7 per day per vehicle or $70 for an annual pass. All ages and abilities are welcome. Visitors are asked to please dress in weather-appropriate clothing, bring plenty of water and bug spray and be prepared to spend about an hour outside.

No reservations needed. For questions or comments, please call St. Vrain State Park at 303-485-0186.
