The Firminator Shrinks Down to ATV Size

Want to plant food plots, but can’t justify a tractor? Ranew’s Outdoor Equipment has shrunk down its popular Firminator G-3 to a smaller size, in the Firminator G-3 ATV.

Attach the Firminator G-3 ATV to your four-wheel (500cc or more recommended), and it does it all from start to finish: breaking and cultivating the ground, planting the seed, and covering it. It weighs a whopping 860 pounds and Ranew’s claims that it’ll break ground that most other ATV cultivators would struggle with. That much weight requires some serious support, which is why the Firminator G-3 ATV is built on a frame constructed of 3-inch steel square tubing. The harrow’s mid-range setting allows variable disk depth to break clogs and level and smooth the soil. Its six 14-inch discs are spaced six inches apart, and can disc 32 inches across at a time, which makes it great for small plots and tight areas.

The seeding system starts with a steel seedbox, paired with Ranew’s Accurate Seeding System, which lets you adjust the metering by 1/16-inch graduations. The seedbox measures 34″ x 14.5″ x 12,” and can hold 2 bushels at a time. The seed then falls into a specially designed baffle that evenly distributes the seed in front of the cultipacker. Seed dispersal is tied to your ATV’s speed, so when you stop, the seeder stops, preventing you from spilling your seed.

Finally, the Firminator G-3 ATV rolls the seed with a 34-inch cast-iron cultipacker. You can lengthen the top link to bring the disks off the ground, which puts more weight on the cultipacker and ensures better seed-to-soil contact.

The Firminator G-3 ATV can connect to a 1 7/8-inch ball, but it also features a three-point category 1 hitch to connect to a small tractor.

Ranew’s Outdoor Equipment does not mention the price, instead referring you to their website for a quote. As the old saying goes, if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
