Here Are The Best EDC Minimalist Wallets

I haven’t had a purse in about 6 years and it has been the absolute best. Especially when I’m outdoors, I can still have my wallet handy in my pockets or fanny pack without even knowing it’s there. I stick everything in my pockets and if it won’t fit in my pockets, it goes in a fanny pack or backpack which usually just stays in the vehicle unless I’m going for a hike.

Regardless, for everyday errands, I only carry what can fit in my pockets. And quite frankly, I’m not looking for anything bulky. I used to carry one of those long, big wallets that would get lost at the bottom of my purse. What was I carrying in that thing? I need a couple cards and some cash, that’s it! What else do I need?

Years ago I made myself a kydex wallet and I never looked back.

Since then, I’ve gone through a few other minimalist wallets and want to share some of my favorites.

1. 5.11 Tactical Excursion Leather Card Wallet

5.11 Tactical Excursion Leather Card Wallet

This is a really simple wallet that can hold your cards or cash. The interior can hold up to 10 cards while the exterior pocket can hold up to 5. I really like the shaped top because the cards stick out nice enough which makes them easy in and out.

There’s a snap closure to ensure nothing is going anywhere.

I’m a big fan of 5.11 and they definitely delivered with this minimalist wallet.

Pros/Slim, holds a lot of cards, easy to use
Cons/Not the best for cash
Bottom Line/Definitely recommended

2. The Ridge Minimalist Slim Wallet

This is one of my new favorites. It has RFID blocking technology, it can expand to hold up to 12 cards and has an easy slot to push the cards out when needed.

The outside offers a cash clip which keeps cash tight and secure. It’s so slim that you literally never know it’s in your pocket. Not gonna lie, sometimes I’ve been scared I don’t have my wallet, that’s how slim and minimalist it is!

Pros/RFID blocking, cash clip, expandable
Cons/
Bottom Line/One of the best, durable and reliable

3. Travelambo Front Pocket Minimalist Leather Slim Wallet

Travelambo Front Pocket Minimalist Leather Slim Wallet

This is a leather wallet, but also offers RFID blocking. It’s one of the slimmest ones so far as it holds about 6 cards in the slots while holding cash on the interior slot. You could add more cards but it will increase the bulk and honestly, the whole point of a minimalist wallet is to reduce the bulk.

There’s also a windowed ID slot on the back which is super nice to have your ID readily available.

Pros/Slim, well made, RFID blocking
Cons/This specific size is a bit larger than I'd like, there are other sizes
Bottom Line/Great, slim leather wallet

4. SUAVELL Leather Slim Wallets

SUAVELL Leather Slim Wallets

This is a unique minimalist wallet because it’s a bifold. Even though it opens up, it’s still very slim.

It can hold a total of 11 cards. The outside can hold a couple cards that you use most often for quick access. It also has an ID slot on the outside. When you open it up, there’s just enough room for some cash and the few additional cards that you may need. It opens up, but it’s still slim and minimal.

Pros/Opens up, RFID blocking, easy access on the outside
Cons/Bit bulkier than some other minimalist wallets
Bottom Line/A bit more room than other wallets

Which wallet is right for you?

Honestly, my EDC life has changed when I turned to a minimalist wallet. I can never go back and I don’t want to. I loved downsizing my cards and downsizing my pockets to what I needed the absolute most. Which one is right for you?
