Savage Announces new 7mm PRC Cartridge Offerings For Its Bolt-Actions

7mm PRC hit the firearms market in the summer of 2022 and it immediately had big game hunters and hand loaders chomping at the bit for some new rifles to be added to the list of available offerings. Savage Arms has just announced that they will be adding the new 7mm PRC cartridge to 11 of their rifles including models for both left and right-handed shooters as well as trims of their most popular rifles for nearly every budget out there.

WESTFIELD, Massachusetts – October 26, 2022 – Following the recent launch of the Impulse Mountain Hunter, Savage Arms is thrilled to introduce a wide array of rifles chambered in one of the newest long-action cartridges, 7mm PRC from Hornady®. The 7mm PRC provides ultimate performance without compromising accuracy.

The 7mm PRC cartridge is designed to have a maximum cartridge overall length (COL) of 3.340 and is optimized for a 1:8 twist barrel to stabilize the upper end of 7mm bullet weights. Users can expect to achieve a muzzle velocity of about 3,0000 fps from 24″ barrels using 175-grain and 180-grain bullets. Savage will have the 7mm PRC cartridge available in 11 different rifles to start with ranging in price from $709 for their 110 Apex Hunter XP (left-handed model as well)  all the way up to their newest offering, the Impulse Mountain Hunter at $2,437.00. According to Savage Arms, the new 7mm PRC rifles will be available in late 2022 and if you’re interested in picking one up, you should contact your local Savage dealer or retailer for ordering info.
