Jimmy Seay will be in-studio and Dee Calvert will talk by phone as Larry Rea discusses Jimmy’s life-changing struggles as a result of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. There is strong evidence that the disease was likely contracted more than 5 years ago and went undiagnosed. Through the process Jimmy, who has mentored hundreds of young men through basketball, including 15 who went on the NBA, lost his marriage, family, reputation, career, health and time. The good news is that Jimmy is recovering and has an important story to share, so important that it will be featured in the first two segments of this week’s show. Jimmy got the tick from a hunting expedition. Dee, a former Memphian, is president & CEO of BioLargo, Inc., in La Mirada, CA.

Phil King will talk about his recent trip to Spain and the World Catfish Classic (45 teams from 16 countries), May 31-June 3, on the Ebro River in Chiprana, Spain. There, Kingteamed with Tim Haynie and David Shipman to place second. The river is home to the gigantic Wels catfish. The USA team led for virtually all three days of the tournament until at the last minute the Dutch team brought in a Wells catfish that put them over the top by 1.3 pounds. Team USA caught all eight of their fish, which totaled 589 pounds, on the first day.
