The NEW Ruger Security-380 – Ideally Sized, Modestly Priced, Full-Featured
Luke Cuenco 12.13.22
380 ACP pistols are still very popular for those who either want a more compact firearm than 9mm will allow or who want something that is a bit easier to handle for training and recreational shooting purposes. If this describes you then maybe the new Ruger Security-380 might pique your interest. The new Ruger Security-380 pistol is a 15+1 capacity handgun that combines the easy-to-use features from the LCP II series of handguns but in a size more reminiscent of the Ruger Security-9 pistol. This very affordable platform can be used for everything from target shooting to concealed carry duty.

The NEW Ruger Security-380 – Ideally Sized, Modestly Priced, Full-Featured
While the Security-380 shares its nomenclature with the much-loved Ruger Security-9, the 380 version of the pistol is almost an inch shorter in length, 3/4 of an inch shorter in height, and about 4 ounces lighter than the 15+1 capacity Security-9. In addition, the Security-380 retains drift adjustable rear sights, a fiber optic front sight, internal hammer-fired action, and an external manual safety – a feature many new shooters still want to have on their firearms. The Security-380 will feature the Ruger Lite Rack system which includes refined slide serrations, pronounced cocking ears at the rear of the slide, and a lighter recoil spring. Not only will these features make the gun easier to rack for newer shooters, but the lighter recoiling .380 ACP cartridge should also be ideal for those looking for a less spicy experience at the range during their training sessions when compared to 9mm.
The new Ruger Security-380 is available for order now through your local Ruger dealers and is being released with a suggested retail price of $369.00 Each new pistol will include two 15-round alloy steel magazines, a locking device, and a magazine loading assist tool. Ruger has also announced a State Compliant 10+1 capacity version that will have the same MSRP and features, just lacking the included 15-round magazines.
