Should You Invest in a MIRA Safety Gas Mask?

People feel really strongly about gas masks one way or the other. They either really love them or really hate them. I think most of the people that hate them simply don’t understand the purpose behind them outside of war.
The fact is, civilians need them just as much as anyone else.
If you’ve heard about the Ohio train derailment, that is one really good example of when a gas mask would have been useful. If you had to go outside during the first few days after the derailment, you would have worn that gas mask.
There are all kinds of masks for specific purposes. The type of chemicals that were released from that train derailment were air born and ended up killing livestock around the area, people reported difficulty breathing and other health concerns.
Gas masks aren’t just for nuclear fallout, though they are great for that, as well.
If the air is contaminated somehow like from spores, fallout, chemicals, etc., and you decide to go outside, that’s when you would put the gas mask on. Very rarely would you be wearing a gas mask 24/7, nor would you want to.
In addition, filters typically only last 12-24 hours, depending on the type of filter.
The great news is, the filters from MIRA Safety last up to 20 years unused! That’s the longest shelf life of any filter I’ve ever heard of. Very impressive.
Let’s dive into the MIRA Safety gas mask. I had the pleasure of testing out the CM-6M mask, which is an all-around great mask for just about CBRN defense. You can place two filters on this mask, or just one.
When you first take this out of the box, the quality is immediately clear. It’s sturdy and feels extremely well-made. It’s something that’s obvious you could rely on.
I love that this mask comes with a drinking hose. It can connect to the canteen that it comes with or even a camelbak. It’s easy to reach the tube on the inside. The canteen it left a bit to be desired. It felt like a cheap canteen, I think I just expected something different. In my opinion, the canteen would need to be filled and connected before going out into the contaminated area. This would keep the tube and water as safe as possible from contamination.
I really wish someone would come out with a full-face mask that accommodates glasses. I have to purchase spectacle inserts with my prescription if I want to keep my sight while wearing the mask. I mean, I’m not that blind, I could wing it. Probably. Maybe.
Anyway, the full-face panoramic view is absolutely amazing. I have found it difficult to see out of most gas masks, it cuts your peripheral vision is half. But you can see a wide view all around with little to no obstruction.
It’s very easy and quick to cinch down around your head. With a gas mask, you want it to be as tight as possible. This means, guys, you want to shave your beard if you want a good seal.
Let’s face it, breathing is pretty important. Will you be using this gas mask all the time? No. But when you need it, you’ll need it.
MIRA Safety has so many options for personal protection equipment for masks, boots, kids masks, suits and more! They have thought of everything and I know that quality is an important part of their brand. And when it comes to life-saving emergency gear, quality is what I’m looking for.
I was very skeptical of MIRA Safety. I’ve owned other kinds of gas masks before and nothing comes close to the quality of MIRA Safety. I
highly recommend MIRA Safety. Take a look at all that MIRA Safety has to offer!
