Toyota Series Bass Fishing Championship Gears up for Wheeler Lake

The Toyota Series Championship will be held at Wheeler Lake in Huntsville, Alabama on Nov 7-9. The nation’s best Toyota Series international anglers and pros will go head to head for a top award of up to $235,000 in cash, including the $35,000 Phoenix MLF Bonus and an invitation to REDCREST 2025– Major League Fishing’s most prestigious event.
The tournament will be hosted by the Huntsville-Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Madison County Commission and the Huntsville Sports Commission. The 3-day event is the culmination of the 2024 Toyota Series Presented by Phoenix Boats season, a six-division circuit that offers a path to the 2025 Tackle Warehouse Invitationals and, ultimately, the Bass Pro Tour.
“We are excited to bring the 2024 Toyota Series Championship to Ditto Landing and welcome everyone for a great week of fishing in the center of the bass fishing capital of the world,” said Joel Lamp, Sports Development Manager of the Huntsville-Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to everyone having a great week on the water and showcasing what a great destination we have for fishing.”
In addition to the lucrative prize of $235,000, the signature fall championship the top finishers in each division can win thousands in awards. The well-established championship also provides the opportunity for anglers worldwide to advance, which furthers their reach and amplifies their fishing platforms.
Location Features
Wheeler Lake stretches from dam to dam and features iconic fishing situations such as:
-The famous Decatur Flats that feature stumps and shell bars.
-Major creeks like Elk River where Zack Birge won the Rayovac FLW Series Championship in 2014.
-The Guntersville Dam which is where Nathan Brewer led the Toyota Series for two days in 2022 by locking out of Lake Guntersville and fishing below the dam for smallmouth.
Tournament Timing
Anglers will blast off at 7 a.m. from Ditto Landing, which is located at 293 Ditto Landing Rd, in Huntsville. The weigh-ins will be from the same place and will begin at 3 p.m. Fans are welcome and encouraged to attend the daily weigh-ins and blast-offs. Fany canalso follow the tournament action online through the “MLF Live” weigh-in broadcasts and daily coverage at MajorLeagueFishing.com.
All tournament anglers are set to compete on Days 1 and 2, with the top 25 pros and top 25 Strike King co-anglers. Rankings will be based on the cumulative weight from the first two days continuing to the third and final day. The 2024 Toyota Series champions will be determined by the heaviest 3-day total weight.
