HEVI-Shot Expands 28-Gauge Turkey Load Options

SWEET HOME, Oregon – March 13, 2025 – HEVI-Shot has announced an expansion of its popular 28-gauge turkey load lineup, with new options now shipping to retailers nationwide. The company has added 2 3/4-inch shells to both its Magnum Blend and HEVI-18 TSS product lines, complementing the existing 3-inch offerings.

The expanded lineup includes:

Magnum Blend:

  • 3-inch, No. 5/6/7 tungsten shot blend, 1 ounce (HS28567)
  • NEW: 2 3/4-inch, No. 5/6/7 tungsten shot blend, 15/16 ounce (HS28340)

HEVI-18 TSS:

  • 3-inch, No. 7 TSS, 1 1/4 ounce (HS7287)
  • 3-inch, No. 9 TSS, 1 1/4 ounce (HS7289)
  • NEW: 2 3/4-inch, No. 7 TSS, 11/16 ounce (HS7257)
  • NEW: 2 3/4-inch, No. 9 TSS, 11/16 ounce (HS7259)

Scott Turner, HEVI-Shot’s Shotshell Product Manager, explained the rationale behind the expansion: “Following in the footsteps of the 410 Bore, 28-gauge turkey shotguns are now soaring in popularity. In response to that trend, we released 3-inch, 28-gauge options in our popular HEVI-18 TSS and Magnum Blend tungsten turkey load lineups last year with great success. This year, we are adding 2 3/4-inch options. Hunting with tungsten shot enables lighter-load sub-gauges to be ultra-effective in the turkey woods and shooting them is a lot of fun too.”

The Magnum Blend combines No. 5, 6, and 7 shot cast from 12 g/cc tungsten into a single load. This high-density payload offers improved pattern density and extended effective range compared to traditional lead shot.

HEVI-18 TSS loads feature ultra-dense 18 g/cc pellets and friction-reducing spherical buffer. This combination allows hunters to use smaller shot sizes while achieving higher pellet counts and denser patterns at extended ranges.

All new products are available in 5-count boxes, with an MSRP of $39.99 for Magnum Blend loads and $61.99 for HEVI-18 TSS loads.
