Public Invited to Comment on Early Migratory Game Bird Seasons in North Carolina

Starting June 1, the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is inviting public comments on the early waterfowl and webless migratory game bird hunting seasons.

The seasons include dove, woodcock, rail, snipe and those waterfowl seasons beginning prior to Oct. 1. Input on extended falconry seasons for webless species also will be taken at this time. Comment on proposed dates for the seasons by going to www.ncwildlife.org and clicking on “Submit Comments

Comments will be accepted June 1-20.  Season dates will be selected at the July 12 Commission meeting.

Every year, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service provides frameworks from which to choose the seasons, and the Commission selects the actual dates within these guidelines.
