After having not qualified for an Olympic spot four previous times, Smallbore shooter Sandra Uptagrafft has earned a spot on the 2012 US Olympic Team. “It’s a dream come true,” said Uptagrafft. “It sounds cliché, but it’s been a long struggle and it does prove that hard work, perseverance and determination really do pay off.” Uptagrafft will now join her husband Eric in London (who last competed in the 1996 Olympics), where they both will not only be competing as a married couple on the USA Shooting Team, but celebrating their anniversary.
