Tuesday is Arizona’s Fall Hunt Application Deadline

Don’t wait until the last minute to apply for Arizona’s fall draw for hunting deer, turkey, javelina, bighorn sheep, buffalo and pheasant. Applications must be received by the Arizona Game and Fish Department by 7 p.m. (MST), Tuesday, June 12. There are three ways to apply for the fall draw: online, in person or by mail.
ONLINE: Visit www.azgfd.gov/draw, click on the link to the online service, and scroll down to the “Apply for a Draw” link. The department strives to accommodate all hunters, but the 7 p.m. June 12 deadline is firm and is not flexible. A high volume of last-minute draw applications could cause the website to slow or be temporarily unavailable. Technical problems could also occur that would prevent hunters from uploading and finalizing online applications by the deadline. Online applications must be completed and electronically submitted by the deadline. Don’t delay.
IN PERSON: Drop off applications at one of the seven Game and Fish offices statewide. Offices are located in Pinetop, Flagstaff, Kingman, Yuma, Tucson, Mesa and Phoenix. For office addresses and directions, visit www.azgfd.gov/offices.
BY MAIL: Mailing applications at this late date is not recommended. Draw applications must be received by Game and Fish on or before 7 p.m. (MST), Tuesday, June 12. Postmarks don’t matter – it’s the date and time applications are received by Game and Fish. Mailed applications should be sent to Arizona Game and Fish Department, Attn. Drawing Section, PO Box 74020, Phoenix, AZ 85087-1052.
IMPORTANT DEADLINE INFORMATION: Department office locations statewide will be open until 7 p.m. on June 12 to receive dropped-off applications. However, front counter customer service for regular business transactions, including the sale of fishing and hunting licenses, still closes at 5 p.m.

WILDFIRE INFORMATION: Wildfires are a fact of life in Arizona. It is unknown at this time what the impact of this year’s wildfires will be on fall hunting in certain units. Hunters applying for a fall hunt should consider these and other variables before putting in for the draw. State law and Game and Fish Commission rules have no provisions for issuing refunds, reinstating bonus points or providing rain-checks to hunters who draw units affected by wildfire.
