Back for the Attack: LUND Mania Tournament Returns to Ottertail

Now in its fourth year, the annual LUND Mania Tournament has become a don’t-miss event for LUND boat owners across the Midwest. Sponsored by the New York Mills C&C (Civic & Commerce), Lund Boat Company and a host of additional local and industry sponsors, the annual tournament has become part tradition, part camaraderie, and a fun opportunity to fish against walleye legends like Al Lindner, Gary Roach, Scott and Marty Glorvigen, Ted Takasaki, Perry Good, and more. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that LUND Mania Tournament awards boats to the top three finishers along with thousands of additional dollars in prizes.
Nevermind that Ottertail Lake is a walleye factory with an amazing day bite—where, on just about any given day, ‘eyes can be caught shallow, deep or in-between throughout the 14,000-acre lake. Makes the perfect playground for pulling from a tactical arsenal that includes jigging, rigging, cranks and you-name-it. Ottertail walleyes are hungry—and eat it all.
Of course, this kind of fishery poses a unique challenge to anglers. And on Friday, July 6, between the hours of 7:00 am and 2:00 pm, the six best walleyes will win the best boats, three models from LUND.

- 2nd Place: LUND WD-14 with a 9.9 ELH 4 Stroke and Shoreland’r trailer
- 3rd Place: LUND A-14 Utility boat and Shoreland’r trailer
Located just minutes from Ottertail Lake, New York Mills-based LUND Boats takes conservation and community very seriously. 2012 LUND Mania is a Catch, Record & Release tournament that relies on a network of non-competing spotters to help validate and photograph eligible tournament fish.
