SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA, a subsidiary of the Austrian-based company, announces that the CL Companion binocular has won the Editor’s Choice award for best mid-size binocular in Outdoor Life’s 2012 Gun and Optics test. SWAROVSKI OPTIK’S EL Range and new Z6i 2nd Generation riflescope were also recognized as two of 2012’s best innovations by Outdoor Life magazine.
Outdoor Life’s Gun and Optics test takes the latest and greatest optic products of the year and puts them through a rigorous series tests to determine the standouts. SWAROVSKI OPTIK’s CL Companion binocular won the award for 2012 Editor’s choice award for mid-size binoculars. The editor’s choice is awarded to the product they determine to be best in its class, based on innovation, design, and dependability for its value.
SWAROVSKI OPTIK’s EL Range finding binoculars, and new Z6i 2nd Generation riflescope, were also recognized as two of 2012’s best innovations by Outdoor Life magazine. “The laser rangefinder in SWAROVSKI OPTIK’S EL binocular is simply the best in the business,” said Outdoor Life, in an excerpt from the 2012 June/July issue.
“We are truly excited about these new and innovative products that we have brought to the market and they are the result of listening closely to our customers and upholding our highest standards. All of our products are made in Austria or assembled in the US. We will always design our products focused on optimum quality as a whole rather than on just an individual isolated feature. Our customers demand the highest quality from their optics for their outdoor activities and we are very proud to give them the finest products money can buy,” says Albert Wannenmacher, CEO of SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA.
All of the products are tested in a 2-part approach. Objective tests test the low light performance, optical quality and mechanical precision. The second part is a series of subjective tests, in which the experts spend a week at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, using the products as any other hunter would in a real world application, testing the durability, comfort and ease of use, and detecting optic flaws and image sharpness.
