Mancos State Park Events Celebrate Fourth of July Weekend

MANCOS, Colo. – Join Mancos State Park for some fun, entertaining and educational events over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. These events are free, but a valid parks pass is required for all vehicles that enter the park. For more information please call (970) 533-7065.
Friday, July 1:
- 8:30 a.m. Birding: Meet at west end parking area. Let’s see and hear what birds are here. Bring your binoculars.
- 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Butterflies: Let’s go watch and chase. Nets provided. Meet at Chicken Creek Trail head.
Saturday, July 2:
- 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Butterflies: Let’s go watch and chase. Nets provided. Meet at Chicken Creek Trail head.
- 7 p.m. Concert: Donny Johnson and his Band of One, plays and sings country music and more. Come and enjoy at the amphitheater. You won’t want to miss this concert.
Sunday, July 3:
- 9 a.m. Birding: Meet at west end parking area. Let’s see and hear what birds are here. Bring your binoculars.
- 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Butterflies: Let’s go watch and chase. Nets provided. Meet at Chicken Creek Trail head.
- 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. WILD Games for kids and kids-at-heart! Meet at amphitheater.
- 7:30 p.m. Campfire Program: Lions and Bears and Coyotes-Oh My! Find out about some common predators found in the San Juan Mountains.
Monday, July 4:
- 9:30 p.m. Watch fireworks from the dam. Bring your own chairs and enjoy!
