Brush Country Monsters Begins Sophomore Season on Sportsman

BRUSH COUNTRY, SOUTH TEXAS (July 5, 2011)- Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, is proud to announce the return of Brush Country Monsters for it’s second season. Watch Brush Country Monsters (BCM) on Mondays at 5 pm, Tuesdays at 6 am and Saturdays at 10 pm ET.

Join BCM’s cast at the infamous Novillos Ranch in Deep South Texas, and get the insider’s look into management of one of the largest free-range whitetail herds and best-managed genetics in all of North America.

Your host, professional hunting guide and game manager, Lamar Smith, has run the hunting program on the Novillos for nearly two decades. Smith played a key role in the molding and nurturing of the whitetail herd that is now near legendry status.

“I am a farmer by trade but when the Scoggins family came to me about managing their hunting operations on the Novillos in the early-1990’s, I jumped at the chance,” Smith said. “Not only to be able to roam one of South Texas’ best ranches, but to also learn the how’s, what’s, and why’s of raising big whitetails from a family who has devoted much of their lives to the pursuits of breeding and developing world-class, big buck genetics.”

Smith and BCM producer, Seth Johnson, share the camera’s viewpoint with a variety of guests; many are longtime clients of the Novillos. The ranch boasts a hefty clientele; many are mainstays, having made the Novillos’ quality genetics, guides and hospitality a part of their annual quests in search of trophy whitetails. In addition to hunting, viewers will gain valuable information from noted wildlife biologist and outfitter, John Burrell.

“This great cast mixed with some celebrities showcasing hunts from both domestic and exotic venues promises. There’s something for everybody in every episode!” exclaimed Smith.

Friends and family continue to be a strong theme on BCM, “and always will be,” Smith added. “Growing up, the Smith family has always hunted as a family. I raised my own three sons the same way. Keeping kids involved in the outdoors will preserve it for future generations and assure that hunting will be alive and well down the road.”

“We are proud of Sportsman Channel and its own promotion of family unity in the outdoors. We recognize Sportsman Channel as the foremost venue to showcase our efforts of instilling responsible stewardship of hunting and nature while strengthening the values of family and friends. We are proud to be part of their network,” said Smith.

So come along and follow host Lamar Smith and friends for season two of Brush Country Monsters. Join us each week and always remember to keep God and family first!
