Importance of Training: This Week on Gun Talk Radio

   07.22.11

Mandeville, LA – The more you train, the better prepared you are for any situation. This holds true for any encounter – be it with local law enforcement or an intruder in your home, both of which Tom discuses this Sunday on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk (R) Radio, the nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports, to talk training and being prepared.

There is an added level of awareness one must have when conceal carrying, and oftentimes additional laws as well. In Canton, OH, two cops approached a car with a permit holder, and the exchange that followed was caught on the dashboard video camera. Doug Deeken, Coordinator at the Ohioans for Concealed Carry, talks with Tom Sunday about the incident, the legal defense fund for the gentleman, and more. The video of the incident can be viewed at www.ohioccw.org.

There are only a handful of training schools where one can learn Defensive Handgun, Vehicle Defense, and everything in between – Shootrite Firearms Academy in Alabama is one of those places, and Tiger McKee is the man who makes it all happen. An instructor for decades, McKee offers small class sizes to better train his students in the use of “firearms for personal combat.” He joins Tom Sunday to discuss training tips and techniques.

In its 16th year of national syndication, Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk Radio airs live on Sundays from 2PM-5PM Eastern, and runs on more than 115 stations, plus on XM (Ch. 165) Satellite Radio.  All Gun Talk shows can be downloaded as podcasts at http://www.guntalk.libsyn.com and Apple iTunes, or through one of the available Apps: the Gun Talk iPhone App, the Blackberry Podcast App, the Android App and the Gun Talk App for Android on Amazon.
