LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will host a small game hunting workshop and rimfire shoot for hunters of all experience levels at 9 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the Lincoln Izaak Walton League, 10801 S. 134th St.

This free event is open to anyone interested in learning about strategies, gear, trophy care and everything else you need to know about squirrel and rabbit hunting. Space is limited, so registration at HuntSafeNebraska.org is required.

Participants will go from the classroom to the range as they sight in their rifle or pistol. For more details, visit HuntSafeNebraska.org or call 402-471-5662.

“Rabbit and squirrel hunting is an overlooked, underutilized resource just waiting for you,” said Aaron Hershberger, Game and Parks outdoor educator. “You learn a lot about the pure skill of being a hunter when pursuing rabbits and squirrels that will make anyone a better hunter – even big game hunters.”
