Hailing from California, Robert (Rob) F. Kay has been a communicator since 1975. A lifelong marksman who learned to shoot at the Pacific Rod and Gun Club (in San Francisco), he began his communications career with the San Francisco Chronicle Foreign Service. He has worked as a radio news journalist and a contributor to publications such as the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal. After publishing two well-received travel guides for the Lonely Planet series he has recently completed How to Buy an AK-47, a buyer’s guide to the AK platform, available on Amazon. He writes a regular column on firearms called On Target Hawaii, which is published in a feature magazine called Hawaii Reporter.
