The thought of eating Coues deer heart tacos is enough to turn some people green, but really they’re the ones missing out.
Many hunters, while following the steps of field dressing game animals remove all the organs and simply toss them aside, but they’re missing out on one of the best tasting muscles on the animal!
The deer heart is really just another muscle, in fact, you’d be pretty hard pressed to find a better cut of meat. It’s really good for you, and tastes amazing.
In the video below, we are joined by MeatEater himself, Steven Rinella, as he prepares a campfire meal consisting of heart from a Coues deer he harvested while hunting in Arizona.
