Take Mom Out for a Memorable Mother’s Day on the Range with Women on Target

As is the tradition for us at NRA Headquarters, we’ll be celebrating Mother’s Day by attending Centreville’s annual Women On Target Instructional Shooting Clinic. Hosted by the Izaak Walton League of America, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for the ladies to try their hand with rifles, pistols, muzzleloaders and shotguns.

But there’s more then range time to this weekend’s event — also available for all attendees will be a Refuse To Be A Victim seminar. Providing the best in tips and techniques, Refuse to be a Victim is a personal safety strategy that can be applied in the home, at the office, on vacation or even in the car.

“It’s a really great program,” said NRA Women On Target Instructional Clinic Coordinator Diane Danielson. “Their instructors are top notch, and for a lot of women, this will be their first time firing a gun. I can’t tell you how many of these ladies tell me what a wonderful time they have after these clinics.”

Women on Target clinics create more opportunities for women to learn all about firearms, gain confidence in newly-acquired shooting skills while surrounded by fellow female first-timers. By learning these new skills from instructors chosen especially for their ability to teach and encourage novice shooters.

If you haven’t already acted, then I’m sorry to say you’re too late. But there’s always another one just around the corner.
