Colorado’s St. Vrain State Park Hosts Programs on Pond Life and Local Fish Species

St. Vrain State Park is a premier destination for fishing along the Front Range. Come and learn about all of the different fish species found within its numerous and generously stocked ponds on Friday, May 18. Using an aqua scope, attendees will be able to catch a glimpse of the underwater world of fish.

And, on Saturday, May 19 visitors can learn about life in a pond at St. Vrain State Park. This includes taking water samples and collecting pond creatures that you may never knew existed. This environmental education program will take place outside on Mallard Pond.

Participants of both events should meet at the Camper Services Building near Mallard Pond. Both programs are free with admission to the park, $7 per day or $70 for an annual pass. All ages and abilities are welcome. Visitors are asked to please dress in weather-appropriate clothing, bring plenty of water and bug spray and be prepared to spend about an hour outside.

No reservations needed.  For questions or comments, please call St. Vrain State Park at (303) 485-0186.
