Video: Mako Shark Snatches Angler’s Amberjack
OutdoorHub Reporters 11.21.13
Anglers—especially kayak fishermen—have a love/hate relationship with sharks. On one hand, sharks are awe-inspiring predators that can turn even a mundane fishing trip into something to remember. On the other hand, sharks usually accomplish this by stealing the biggest fish you have on the line, or doing something to make you question your safety in the water.
In the video below an angler loses his amberjack, which is also called a kingfish in some regions, to a hungry mako. The hunting equivalent would be a mountain lion swatting your broadhead out of the air and proceeding to turn the trophy buck you were aiming for into a picnic. Either way, it’s not pretty.
